Rebecca Jeffers
My work is primarily landscapes executed in watercolor and oils. I also dabble with photography. In my landscapes, I try to capture the fleeting sense of beauty inherent in nature without adding too much reality.
I have two degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Washington University St. Louis and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. In 1992, I joined the Missouri Army National Guard where I did drafting and surveying as an Engineering Assistant. After 6 years, I was able to transfer to the Air Guard and completed 15 years with them - enablling me to get a pension. In the civilian world I worked first as a software engineer/programmer and then as a program manager. I was able to take and early retirement from the federal government to have more time for my family, to fix of my houses, and to start painting again. In addition to my careers, I am raising twin boys, live in Jefferson County Missouri, and am fixing up a lake house on Lake Wauwanoka in Hillsboro, Missouri. What I love most about retirement: a bad day on the lake is still better than a good day in the office!
